, the Head of the Targeted Nano Therapies theme at the at the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp of ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp, and Dr Stéphanie Corde Tehei, Deputy Director of Radiation Oncology Medical Physics at Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick, and honorary associate professor at CMRP (UOW) met with the Minister of Health for French Polynesia, Dr Jacques Raynal, his cabinet and the Cancer Institute of French Polynesia on 22 July.

Dr Tehei and Dr Corde Tehei had previously been solicited with respect to the creation of the new Cancer Institute of French Polynesia "Tiurai" (ICPF) before the pandemic, but were not able to make the journey until recently due to travel restrictions.

This discussion made it possible to recognise the opportunity to establish a collaboration in the field of cancer treatment as well as the possibility of exchanging trainees. The objective is to lead to the deployment of a highly developed research activity in the territory within the ICPF by making it possible for young Polynesian researchers to come and practice their art in Polynesia and find innovative treatments for patients.
