Dr Marian Wong can discuss Sydney’s disappearing blue gropers and whether the NSW government should make its line-fishing ban permanent. is a marine biologist in the School of Science. Her research interests lie in the behavioural ecology and conservation behaviour of social fishes.
Interest rates
Professor Martin O’Brien can talk about interest rates ahead of tomorrow’s announcement by the Reserve Bank of Australia. is an economist and the Director of the Centre for Human and Social Capital Research. His research interests include segmented labour market theory, econometrics, older worker employment issues and hidden unemployment.
Mental Health Nurses’ Day – Friday 21 February
Professor Tim Wand can talk about Mental Health Nurses’ Day (Friday 21 February). The day celebrates and acknowledges the vital role mental health nurses play in our community. On Friday will speak at an event for the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses. He is a registered nurse who has worked predominantly in the field emergency mental health since 2000. Professor Wand is from UOW’s School of Nursing.
Ageing vs frailty
Dr Julee McDonagh can discuss the difference between ageing and frailty and explain why one is inevitable and the other is not. In an article she coauthored in , Dr McDonagh writes:
It doesn’t matter how many green smoothies you drink, or how many “anti-ageing” skin care products you use, you can’t stop the ageing process.
But while we’re all getting older, not everyone who ages will necessarily become frail. Ageing and frailty are closely related, but they’re not the same thing.
is a registered nurse and expert in frailty and cardiovascular disease. She is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Nursing.

Professor Markus Wagner can talk about US President Donald Trump’s attempts to overhaul the US government. is an internationally recognised expert in international economic law and governance, international peace and security, as well as US and Australian constitutional law. He is the Director of the Transnational Law and Policy Centre at UOW.
