Leading employers scout for talent at UOW STEM and Health Careers Expo
UOW students seize the opportunity to explore future careers
ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp of ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp (UOW) students will have the opportunity to meet, connect and network with future employers at the STEM and Health Careers Expo being held today (Tuesday 6 August) at the UniHall at ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp Campus.
Hundreds of students are expected to take part in the annual expo as employers look to recruit UOW students to meet growing industry demand for science, technology, engineering, mathematics and health care industry-ready graduates.
The UOW STEM and Health Careers Expo brings together students from the faculties of Engineering and Information Sciences (EIS) and Science, Medicine and Health (SMAH) and leading employers from across the country, to discuss potential career options, internships, vacation roles and graduate recruitment opportunities.
More than 40 companies will exhibit at this year’s expo, including the Australian Defence Force, Australian Food and Pharmaceutical Industries, Bluescope, Hysata, IRT, NSW Department of Communities and Justice, NSW Department of Education, Southern.IML Pathology, Warrigal, Westpac and ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp City Council.
UOW Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic and Student Life) said the STEM and Health Expo is vital as it provides students with direct access to top-tier employers to ask questions about their future careers and fast-track graduate opportunities.
“UOW is consistently ranked among the best nationally for the quality of our graduates, companies will be on the scout for future talent today,” Professor Bennett said.
“With huge demand for STEM and Health graduates, UOW is producing industry-ready professionals who can fill employment gaps in these important industries.
“I encourage students to seize the opportunity by talking to as many exhibitors as possible and create invaluable connections with top employers.”
The expo is open to all EIS and SMAH students and is particularly valuable for those in their penultimate or final year of study.
’s Head of People and Talent, Australia, Amanda Guest said the expo provided invaluable opportunities for the company to attract and attain high quality graduates.

Workshops and presentations will be held throughout the day. A panel of successful women from diverse STEM fields will present a Women in STEM Industry panel at 11:30am. Professionals in the public health, rehabilitation and health informatics fields will present Beyond the scrubs: Exploring diverse careers in the healthcare sector at 12:30pm.
A photographer will be available to take professional headshots of students during the event so the soon-to-be graduates can update their LinkedIn profiles. UOW Careers and Employability staff will be available to provide feedback on student’s resumes.
