Annual event features workshops, information sessions, study resources and entertainment

The ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp of ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp (UOW) will welcome new students to its Liverpool campus when it holds It’s Go Time, UOW’s reimagined student orientation event, today and tomorrow (February 21 and 22).

The annual event promises to be an immersive experience, providing students with essential information, support services, and offer a host of exciting activities to kickstart their academic journey.

It’s Go Time is not just about the administrative aspects of enrolment and subject information; it's a holistic approach to ensuring students have everything they need to thrive at ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp. From academic guidance to mental health support, UOW Liverpool has curated a comprehensive program that encompasses every aspect of student life.

UOW Interim Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Student Life) Professor Eileen McLaughlin said It’s Go Time will provide students with a variety of tools to support their academic journey.

“It’s Go Time is an opportunity for students to explore all that UOW has to offer, both academically and socially,” Professor McLaughlin said.

“From academic support to fun-filled activities, It’s Go Time sets the tone for the rest of the academic year and helps students feel welcomed and integrated into the university community.

“The transition to university can be daunting, which is why we've put extra emphasis on providing the right support services and initiatives to help students navigate through their academic journey successfully.

“This year's event is all about creating a vibrant and inclusive environment where students feel supported, connected, and ready to begin their academic journey.”

UOW Pro Vice-Chancellor (Health – Sydney Campuses) Professor Louise Hickman said the two-day event will feature informative sessions on academic programs, study resources, and campus facilities, ensuring that students are well-equipped to make the most of their time at UOW Liverpool.

“Designed to build a sense of connectedness, purpose, resourcefulness and capability, It's Go Time prepares students to tackle their academic journey and seek help when needed. It is a wonderful opportunity to welcome our new UOW Liverpool students and set them up for success,” Professor Hickman said.

“Here at UOW Liverpool we have organised a range of informative and entertaining activities, including workshops, live music performances, games and an Amazing Race competition with prizes. These events provide students with the perfect opportunity to socialise, build new friendships and prepare for their studies.”

Nursing students are invited to attend on Wednesday, while business, law, computer science, information technology, social work and UOW College students should attend on Thursday.
