The ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp of ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp India (UOW India) has opened applications for students wishing to study at its GIFT City campus.
At the same time, UOW India also announced it has added a Master of Financial Technology and a Graduate Certificate in Financial Technology (both subject to final approval) to the programs it will offer students this year.
These two programs are joining the previously announced Master of Computing (Data Analytics) and Graduate Certificate in Computing programs which will be launched in July this year.
UOW Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Patricia M. Davidson said she was looking forward to welcoming students to the ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp’s newest campus and providing them a world-class Australian education in India.
“We are excited to open applications to UOW India and looking forward to welcoming our first cohort of students to our GIFT City campus,” Professor Davidson said.
“This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain a world-class education and experience in the field of computing and financial technology.”
“Our students will also benefit from work-integrated learning opportunities through industry partnerships and gain meaningful work experience while studying a degree.”
The entry criteria for these programs are the same as those for UOW’s Australian campuses, which include an undergraduate degree, work experience, and English language assessment.
When it begins operations, UOW India will be the second highest ranked university in India in the QS World ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵapp Rankings 2024.
Executive Dean for the Faculty of Business and Law Professor Colin Picker said he was excited to offer the Financial Technology programs at UOW India.
“UOW is ranked in the top 250 universities in the world for Accounting and Finance subjects, with a well-earned reputation for excellence,” Professor Picker said.
“Our innovative FinTech courses will equip students with the skills, knowledge and experience needed for success in finance and the emerging field of Financial Technology.
“The Master of Financial Technology program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the financial technology industry and its impact on the global economy.
"The Graduate Certificate in Financial Technology is a short course focused on cutting edge developments in Financial Technology, helping students develop a strong understanding of how technology is being applied in a range of domains such as banking and insurance."
Executive Dean for the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences Senior Professor Gursel Alici said UOW India students would be undertaking a world-class program.
“UOW is ranked as one of the top 200 universities in the world for Computer Science and Information Technology,” Professor Alici said.
“We are very proud to offer an agile and innovative curriculum ensuring that our students graduate as highly skilled Information and Communication Technology professionals.
“The Graduate Certificate in Computing provides a postgraduate introduction to computing for students without prior knowledge of IT and computing. It will allow graduates and professionals from a non-IT background to add to their current knowledge and skills set with a recognised qualification in computing.
“The Master of Computing (Data Analytics) program is designed to bridge computing and data analytics expertise, catering to diverse graduates, while mastering technical and ethical dimensions of the field.”
UOW is committed to providing students with the best possible education and experience. The programs are delivered by experienced faculty members who are experts in their respective fields. Students will also benefit from industry partnerships that provide them with meaningful work experience and prepare them for successful careers in the field.
