NEW FIRST HOMEBUYER DEPOSIT SCHEME
Professor Alex Frino can provide commentary about the new first homebuyer deposit scheme. Prof Frino is a Professor of Economics and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Strategy). Not available on Friday.
INTERIM REPORT - ROYAL COMMISSION INTO AGED CARE - THURSDAY 31 OCTOBER
Professor Victoria Traynor can speak about the Royal Commission into Aged Care Interim Report, due to be released this Thursday. Prof Traynor’s research focuses on working with older people, family carers and healthcare practitioners delivering aged and dementia care services. She is from the School of Nursing.
WAGE THEFT - ROCKPOOL DINING GROUP
Dr Betty Frino is available for interviews about reports Rockpool Dining Group allegedly tampered with timesheets to conceal thousands of hours of unpaid work. Dr Frino’s research spans remuneration systems and wage setting, labour regulation, workplace productivity, pay equity, employee attitudes, engagement and well-being. She is a Lecturer in the School of Management, Operations and Marketing.
UPCOMING ROYAL COMMISSION INTO VIOLENCE, ABUSE, NEGLECT AND EXPLOITATION OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY
Dr Shoshana Dreyfus can provide comment on the upcoming Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability (the first public hearing in Townsville will be on 4 November). Dr Dreyfus is a linguistics lecturer and an expert in disability studies. She is the co-convenor of UOW’s Disability Research Network. Here .
