UOW welcomes HSC high achievers and potential students

 

Vice Chancellor welcomes the region’s HSC high achievers at scholarship reception

What:  A welcome reception for HSC high achievers

When:  Tuesday 5 January, 2016, 2.45 for 3pm

Where:  Ground Floor, Sciences Teaching Facility (Building 43).

Who:  The Vice Chancellor, Professor Paul Wellings CBE, together with senior academic staff, will welcome up to 150 top HSC performers and their families from the Illawarra, South Coast, Southern Highlands, Sutherland Shire, and southern and South West Sydney.

Why:  150 students with the top ATAR results from the UOW catchment area have been invited to attend. They will be offered a Vice Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship worth $3,000 for their first year of study at UOW and have the opportunity to meet senior academic staff to discuss their study options before they lock in their Universities (UAC) Admissions Centre preferences this week.

Options Day for potential UOW students

What:  Options Day student information event

When:  Tuesday 5 January, 2016, 9am -2pm

Where:  Foyer, McKinnon Building (Building 67)

Who:  Academic and student admission staff from UOW and staff from UOW College will be available to advise high school leavers.

Why:  Options Day is the final opportunity for mature age students or school leavers who have achieved an ATAR above or below their expectations to check out their study options before finalising their university preferences this week.

How:  Prospective UOW students are encouraged to bring their results and their questions to get advice on choosing the right UOW degree, modifying their UAC preferences, planning a pathway to university and to visit campus and accommodation facilities.
