Social Science and Management take the highest jump in the prestigious QS World Rankings by Subject

The Ƶapp of Ƶapp (UOW) has further strengthened its global position in the QS World Ƶapp Rankings by Subject released today (4 March 2020).

The Ƶapp’s subject rankings were assessed based on four key components: academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations per paper and h-index.

Engineering and Technology have once again proved to be UOW’s best performers and continue to raise the Ƶapp’s profile in the rankings, jumping 23 places to secure the 154th rank.

In a first for UOW, Social Science and Management’s ranking rose 21 places to 196th position.

The Ƶapp also saw improvements in rankings in Philosophy – placed in 151-200 band; Computer Science and Information Systems - placed in 151-200 band; Law - placed in 101-150 band; Sociology – placed in 151-200 band and; Statistics and Operational Research - placed in 101-150 band, joining the categories where UOW is ranked among the top 200 universities in the world.

UOW Vice-Chancellor, Paul Wellings CBE said the rankings reflect the Ƶapp’s vision to grow consistently by delivering excellent qualitative as well as quantitative outcomes. The Ƶapp has been continuously investing in its research and teaching, including building world-class infrastructure to provide an outstanding learning environment for students and research capabilities for staff.

“I’m pleased to see the Ƶapp of Ƶapp is continuing its progress towards becoming one of the world’s best research-intensive universities, committed to delivering world-class results,” Professor Wellings said.
